~~~
I've seen some mention of it on the forums, so I've started work on a soundtrack for season one, encompassing episodes 1-22, the Christmas special, and the movie. There will be 73 songs on it, so it'll probably be two or three discs long. I've got most of the music, but there are 7 songs I don't know, listed in order by episode below. Any help finding out what these songs are would be greatly appreciated. I just need to know song titles and, if possible, artists. I can take it from there, but links to downloads would be nice, too. Also, it would be nice if a mod could sticky this topic, please.
Songs I need to know
Episode 8:
The songs that plays during the tribute to Tristan's voice
Episode 15:
The 2001: A Space Odyssey music during Yugi's dream
Episode 17:
The Duel Insurance music
The KaibaCorp music
Episode 18:
Pegasus's entrance music
Episode 21:
The opening piece, I think it's from Battlestar Galactica
Movie:
The opening, though it sounds like it might be the 4Kids Yu-Gi-Oh theme
Thanks everyone! With all of us working together, it will hopefully be ready for download by August.
Bakura's evil theme- Ave Satani. it's from "the omen," the old version.
The music from episode 20, he opening music, when Yugi's grandpa leaves the hospital is "Up Where We Belong" by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes. Its a reference to An Officer and a Gentleman i believe.
Oh, and in Episode 12, the song that plays during Joey's dream at the beginning is "Love to Love You Baby" by Donna Summer, and in Episode 14, the song played during Mokuba's kidnappings is "The Way We Were" by Barbra Streisand. Hope this helps, i can't wait for the full soundtrack!
I just searched the "Ask LittleKuriboh' topic, and he said that Pegasus' intro music on Episode 18 is the beginning music from the film "Man on the Moon', but he doesn't know the track.
Episode 19's Ancient Egyptian Laser Beams music is from the Xena: Warrior Princess sountrack, and the track is called 'The Deliverer" n_n
Episode 10:
The song that plays over the ending eyecatch, right after Yami tells Mai to get on her knees and beg
that's "Flashdance - she's a maniac" if I remember correctly....
well.. or it's one of the like .... thousands of different versions of the song "fly me to the moon" used in the NGE-endings lol
really, in NGE, they use a different version of that song at the ending of each episode....
don't know which one of the two songs you meant ^^
The background music for the "Last time on Yugioh" in episode 17 and 9 is from the 4kids Dub of Yugioh, and only plays during that part, since 4kids does not release background tracks, this is cannot be obtained. The audio during that part is from the actual 4kids dub.
I'm talking about just before that, when it displays the logo and has the Adult Swim style text. Thanks, though!
EDIT: There we go, that's what I was talking about. Thank you!
Thanks for that! I probably would have been killing myself trying to find it.
yeah, just realized you meant that one after watching the ending again :-) I've edited my post though, like I said, it's one of many many different versions of "Fly me to the moon", I think there are like... 43 or something, if I remember correctly.
I remembered one more, the background music for the part purportedly directed by David Lynch is the theme from the Magic Roundabout http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=c3DcChXNyYQ
The Episode 4 song is in fact the Beavis and Butthead intro theme. Here's a reference video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9wGAn_FA08 You can rip the audio from there if you can't find it anywhere. ^^
The episode 10 eyecatch song is called "Fly Me To The Moon" and it's the Evangelion ending theme. =)
Episode 12 eyecatch song: Robot Chicken ending theme by The Gonk.
Episode 14 eyecatch song: "Loser" by Beck.
Episode 18 Toon Summoned Skull music: "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" by Sylvester.
Movie- David Lynch scene music: music from Magic Roundabout.
That's all I could find. Hope it helps you. ^_^
You mentioned that you need songs from the movie, too. You probably should not include them. Instead, you should seperate the soundtrack you have planned out into "Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series Official Soundtrack" and "Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Movie Official Soundtrack." You can also give them different names by using "Original Soundtrack" instead, or saying "The Best of Yu-Gi-Oh!..." like the soundtrack titles for Dragonball Z. Anyway, my final opinion is that you seperate them. Soundtracks from series that have movies never include the songs from the movies and the series in one soundtrack, usually because the songs are different, and, in this case, they are all, if not, mostly different.
Thing is, if I make a complete seperate disc for just the movie, it will have a grand total of seven or eight songs on it. I'm trying to keep it all as compact as possible. Thanks for the suggestions, though! It's good to have feedback.
Disco Inferno was in episode 10 near the begining of that duel. Ring of Fire was at the end of that duel (Johnny Cash)
Even if it would only be seven or eight songs, then I think it would be worth splitting into seperate soundtracks. Little Kuriboh was considering making the other movie as well. If that were to happen, then where would those songs go? Also, what about any songs from Cr*psule Monsters? There was that song playing when the plane crashed. There's also the Christmas Special, too. What you can do is something like this...
Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series Official Soundtrack
Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series - Season 1
-Then, list the songs
Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Movie
-Then, list the songs
Cr*psule Monsters
-Then, list the songs
Abridged Christmas
-Then, list the songs
This way, everything is split up into categories.
Are you adding the first generation transformers theme played in the YGO: TAS movie to the soundtrack?
@Finalxflash: Thanks a lot!
@diamonddeath: The soundtrack will be in both torrent and direct download format. I'll have it divided into "discs" for easy burning, but there will also be a listing of songs by episode, so you can divide them up however you want to. Most likely, the movie and Christmas special will end up together on one disc. I did totally forget about Cr*psule Monsters, though. Thanks for bringing that up! And the second movie, depending on when/if LK does it, will probably end up on the Season 2 soundtrack.
@Seraphim: You betcha.
I'm thinking something that would be fun would be some faux cover art for the soundtrack, most likely a parody of a popular album cover with Yu-Gi-Oh characters thrown in. If anyone's up for it, that would be pretty neat. Also, I'm going to post a complete song list sometime next week before I go on vacation. Hopefully all the songs will have been figured out by then.
Thanks for all the support, everyone! Keep it coming!
One song I remember in the movie - the part where Joey, Tristan and Yugi are running from the Zombies, it's a song from Initial D, running in the 90s I believe is the title of it - I had that soundtrack ^_~* I love that song too!
This is a great idea! I've also thought about all the songs he uses and listening to them all. :D Good luck finding all the songs... I'll wait for the torrent! ... actually I can't wait! >D
As for the album covers... :3 I'll take a shot.
I've got a question that I'm pretty sure you can answer. In episode 12 (Duel of the Dead), what's that song that plays as everyone runs from that boulder?
