This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!'... and Gon's Balls will whisper 'First... comes... rock!' Hah! Made you stare at Naruto's Marshmallow! Pushing the logo off-center to drive TheOcean insane.

Default Favourite Shakespeare Quote

Errmmmmm..... Im not sure where to start with this one......

I love the rhythms of Shakespeares words. Some of the poems and scenes of his plays touch me very deeply. And its purely because of the words he chooses and the way he puts them together. And I love the fact that if he couldnt find a word that fit the feeling or action he wanted to portray, he would invent one

What exactly is it that you find tough about Shakespeare?

You have to admit that the English he uses isn't exactly easy for modern kids to grasp.

I don't have a specific favourite quote, but I really love this poem (the introduction to Henry V), especially after I saw a movie adaption of it that was really good.

A kingdom for a stage

O for a Muse of fire, that would ascend
The brightest heaven of invention,
A kingdom for a stage, princes to act
And monarchs to behold the swelling scene!
Then should the warlike Harry, like himself,
Assume the port of Mars; and at his heels,
Leash'd in like hounds, should famine, sword and fire
Crouch for employment. But pardon, and gentles all,
The flat unraised spirits that have dared
On this unworthy scaffold to bring forth
So great an object: can this cockpit hold
The vasty fields of France? or may we cram
Within this wooden O the very casques
That did affright the air at Agincourt?
O, pardon! since a crooked figure may
Attest in little place a million;
And let us, ciphers to this great accompt,
On your imaginary forces work.
Suppose within the girdle of these walls
Are now confined two mighty monarchies,
Whose high upreared and abutting fronts
The perilous narrow ocean parts asunder:
Piece out our imperfections with your thoughts;
Into a thousand parts divide on man,
And make imaginary puissance;
Think when we talk of horses, that you see them
Printing their proud hoofs i' the receiving earth;
For 'tis your thoughts that now must deck our kings,
Carry them here and there; jumping o'er times,
Turning the accomplishment of many years
Into an hour-glass: for the which supply,
Admit me Chorus to this history;
Who prologue-like your humble patience pray,
Gently to hear, kindly to judge, our play.

It's so epic! There are pictures forming in my head. Great pictures.

Hamlet: One could encase thyself in a shell and call himself King of the Universe.

I've got several... This one -
Benedick - I do love thee, for I love thee against my will
because I can relate, this one...
Ariel - Do you love me master?
Prospero - Sweetly, my dearest Ariel
because of all the jokes that were made about it and Ariel's speech where it's telling Prospero how it set fire to the ship, because of the imagery ^^

I love all Shakespeare, I have no favorite quote, but one quote always sticks out in my mind. For I had to recite it perfectly in 9th grade in front of my entire class orally to get a perfect grade. Well here it is.

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interred with their bones,
So let it be with Caesar ... The noble Brutus
Hath told you Caesar was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Caesar answered it ...
Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest,
(For Brutus is an honourable man;
So are they all; all honourable men)
Come I to speak in Caesar's funeral ...
He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honourable manů.
He hath brought many captives home to Rome,
Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill:
Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?
When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honourable man.
You all did see that on the Lupercal
I thrice presented him a kingly crown,
Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.
I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then to mourn for him?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reasonů. Bear with me;
My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar,
And I must pause till it come back to me.
